I’ve used HealthLink BC’s ‘Find a Doctor’ tool, and while it’s good for seeing who might be accepting new patients, it’s not always super up-to-date. What worked better for me was actually signing up for the BC College of Family Physicians’ waitlist (bc.doctor.org). It’s still a wait, but it feels more proactive. Have you tried checking your local Division of Family Practice website too? Sometimes they list clinics accepting new patients.

I was surprised by the difference in prescription costs even within the same city. Always worth asking your pharmacist if there are generic alternatives or if they have loyalty programs. Also, for non-urgent issues, I’ve found that some online virtual care services (often covered by provincial plans) can be super convenient if you just need a quick consultation or a refill. They can save a lot of time!
