For the SIN, my experience at Service Canada was surprisingly quick, provided I had all the right documents – definitely bring your passport and Confirmation of Permanent Residence. Getting my first Canadian ID (Ontario Photo Card) was pretty straightforward once I had my permanent residence card. I used my PR card, a bank statement for address proof, and my SIN letter.
