Great thread! For resumes, I found that keeping it to 1-2 pages maximum is generally preferred here, especially if you have under 10 years of experience. Prioritize Canadian spelling and grammar too! As for cover letters, I’d say they’re almost always necessary unless explicitly stated otherwise. It’s your chance to directly connect your skills to the specific job description, showing you’ve done your homework. Generic ones won’t cut it, unfortunately.
